Aspiration is inspiration with a purpose. Great quote.
Thanks for your contribution. I would say aspiration is the urge or desire to achieve a goal whereas inspiration is the external force or influence that motivates someone to do or to create something. If aspiration is a flame, then inspiration is the fuel to it.

Hey Simon! I’m pleased to hear from you. As far as I can tell, aspiration and inspiration go hand in hand for a person with the eyes of an artist. Let me give you a simple example. Let’s say that you are a tourist on vacay visiting the majestical St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, Italy. Its bewitching interior-the high ceiling, lit candles and elaborate carvings on the walls might give you the impression that you are a part of something much larger. You feel inspired-inspired to create, in turn. Once back home, you bake a cake that looks similar to the church. Or, let’s say that you are an architect who aspires to be among the best. Therefore, you incorporate some of the designs that inspired you in your drawings. Without the desire to achieve something great (aspiration), which is essentially internal, even a hundred inspirations amount to nought.
